Project AWARE is a global movement of scuba divers protecting our ocean planet – one dive at a time. Focused on the critical issues of Sharks and Rays in Peril and Marine Debris, Project AWARE empowers divers around the world to work together for a clean, healthy and abundant ocean planet. Project AWARE is a registered nonprofit organization that raises its own funds and defines its own mission and goals. PADI established Project AWARE in 1989, and continues to support the charity in-kind and operationally. Project AWARE could not achieve its goals without the work of dedicated PADI Divers, dive professionals and volunteers.
